We’re excited to announce that Data Share is officially generally available — and it’s more powerful than ever.

Export dashboards, reports, or raw data directly with your users through Email or to their own S3 Bucket — all without engineering effort.

Simplifying data distribution — without custom builds

For many SaaS platforms, securely sharing data externally has been a persistent challenge. At Explo, our mission has always been to make it easy for teams to deliver data to their customers. With this latest release, we’re unlocking even more flexible, secure ways to do just that.

Each customer expects different data to come in a different form, whether it's in visual dashboards, customer reports, or raw data. Product teams often resort to building and maintaining custom APIs, one-off data pipelines, or spinning up separate reporting portals — all of which require continuous engineering support.

Data Share eliminates these bottlenecks.

With just a few clicks inside Explo, you can now share:

  • Dashboards and reports: embed screenshots of dashboards and reports into emails.
  • Datasets: Share raw data in CSVs and excel files powered by global datasets on any scheduled cadence.

Compared to our existing email sequences, Data Share provides more granular scheduling and recipient lists, so each customer can receive their data on their own cadence.

And now, with flexible delivery options — Email and direct to S3 — you can meet your customers and partners where they are, whether that means sharing direct links via email or delivering data to their cloud storage.

Over the next couple of weeks, we’ll be launching additional delivery methods from SFTP, to external APIs, slack, and direct data warehouse sync.

Built-in security and governance

Data Share is built with robust permissioning and governance at its core. You stay in full control:

  • Define who has access to each dashboard or dataset
  • Monitor usage directly within Explo

This allows teams to confidently meet compliance requirements while still delivering a flexible, self-service experience to stakeholders.

Real-world use cases

We’re already seeing customers adopt Data Share for a range of critical workflows:

  • Exporting large datasets: Push any amount of data directly to your customers’ S3 bucket
  • Partner collaboration: Seamlessly exchange joint data sets or performance dashboards with external partners.
  • Internal reporting: Email curated views with sales, finance, and leadership teams — without building redundant internal reporting tools.

Fully self-service for product and data teams

With Data Share, product and data teams stay empowered. There’s no need for ongoing developer support, API development, or complex integrations. Once configured, Data Share handles the delivery — whether that’s sending automated emails or delivering files directly to S3 buckets.
